Experian.
Experian is one of three credit reference agencies in the UK. Similar
organisations exist in other European countries and the USA. We
keep information on people's credit histories. This information
is available to lenders to help them decide whether or not to accept
credit applications from their customers. We also have a legal obligation
to provide you with access to the information we hold about you.
To query information on your credit report
There
are 3 ways to contact us.
· Send us your query online using the 'Query Your Report'
tab (above).
· Phone us on 0870 241 6212. Our lines are open Monday to
Friday, 8am to 6pm, and Saturday, 9am to 1pm. You may want to avoid
our busiest times, which are weekdays between 10 and 11am, and between
Noon and 2pm.
· Write to us at Experian, PO Box 9000, Nottingham NG80 7WP,
quoting the entry number(s) of the entries you want to query.
When you write to us or send a query online we answer and resolve
your query as quickly as we can. The average length of time we take
to resolve queries is currently about 8 days. Some queries are resolved
more quickly, while others take a little longer, for example when
we need to contact other companies for information. We will let
you know if we need extra time to help you.
The law gives
us 28 days at most to get back to you, but we will always try to
give you an answer much faster.
